Ladies and gentlemen, let the stage curtains open and the lights crown the long-awaited, much-desired night at the Aquatica in Milan, in honour of the Bloody Mary concert.
The adrenaline of the evening keeps rising; the guys elegantly take up their instruments and, after a short introduction of the band, I hear the first notes of ICE BLUE, which send me rushing to the front rows so as not to miss a single verse of Aldebran's warm voice.
I should say that I don't remember the exact order of the songs, but I can still recall how some of them were performed... the night goes on with LITTLE SISTER, which could not be missing from the repertoire, and neither could the next single to come out, JUDAS SPITE, which catches my attention at once. Then comes the moment of DROPS, the song I like best, sung with great spirit and in harmony, though perhaps it would have thrilled even more with the falsetto that makes this song so special. Nor was the only cover, FACE TO FACE, left out — much warmer live, in my opinion. CEASE TO BURN is not missing either, perhaps the most melancholy-sounding, which leaves room for the voice to grow and pay tribute to its sensuality. The vocal cords then unwind into the sweet sadness of LEARNING TO FLY, one of the first songs I got to know, from the EP "Rosemadder"...
I am left enraptured by the gritty, charismatic and undoubtedly tight performance of every member of the band, closely in tune with one another, able to interact with the audience below and above all to convey all the energy of their instruments. Clearly, an extra glance goes to the frontman, who shows off an extremely original and striking look, cared for in every detail — but after all this is not to be overlooked live, especially where Bloody Mary are concerned... Pleasant, too, is his way of entertaining the audience between songs with the sensuality of his speech, a little shrill, a little distorted — thrilling...
Since it was my first Bloody Mary concert, after knowing them for more than a year, my throat felt greedy and my ear insatiable, which is why it all seemed short to me — or perhaps it was just the alcohol that made me lose a few scraps of memory along the way... at the same time, a few generous drops of rum made me listen to the songs to the full, dancing carefree in the front rows, and the most surprising thing is that it was a relaxing concert, where everyone let themselves be carried by the BM's melody without minding one another, front row or back row...
To conclude in essence, I can fully confirm that this band is close-knit, full of surprises and with a great desire to grow, to learn and to have fun. My enthusiasm goes above all to their MUSIC, which is like a sweet and sensual symphony that will never offend the ear, since all it gives me is pure emotion, which turns into the only reason for living for us humans.
